Parental Responsibilities and Expectations

Attendance:

  • You must remain on campus at I.M.P.A.C.T.. with your children any time they are in attendance. Remember, we are not a private school and the education of your children is your responsibility.
     

  • You may only enroll your own children or those over whom you have legal guardianship.

  • Only enrolled students may be on campus during classes.
     

  • Families must be in attendance for at least three class periods.
     

  • Families with high school students taking outside classes on I.M.P.A.C.T. days, either at college or high school, are required to attend I.M.P.A.C.T. for at least two class periods.
     

  • Each middle school/ high school student may be enrolled in a maximum of two study halls.
     

  • Please do not send your child to class during the contagious stages of an illness or with a fever.*
     

  • If there is an illness or medical emergency in your family such that you are unable to attend, you may have your middle school and/or high school student attend with a custodial adult.

Absentee Policy:

  • If you are unable to attend co-op, or if you are going to be late for any reason, please call (as soon as possible Sunday evening/Monday morning).*

Communications:

  • There is a mailbox file located in the office/library area of the main building upstairs. This mailbox file is for parent access only.

  • The parent mailbox files are for I.M.P.A.C.T. related information, and not to be used for solicitation.

  • Any material to be distributed via the member files must be approved by the Leadership Team.

Disciplinary Procedures:

  • Teacher and parent helpers will make every effort to address minor incidents of disruptive behavior within the classroom.

  • Aggressive behavior (hitting, biting, intimidation, harassment, name-calling, threats, etc.) will not be tolerated. Parents will be notified as soon as possible. Students exhibiting any of these behaviors may be suspended or expelled.

  • Parents will be notified of persistent disruptive behavior.

Inclement Weather/School Cancellation:

  • We will follow the Kent and Tahoma district closures. If either district is cancelled or delayed, we will not meet.

  • If we have a cancellation, there will be no official make-up day.

Miscellaneous:

  • All parents are responsible to enforce I.M.P.A.C.T. rules and expectations.

  • You are responsible for your child's behavior any time your family is on campus or at an I.M.P.A.C.T. sponsored off-campus event.

  • You must be in the classroom or area you are assigned for every hour you are present at I.M.P.A.C.T.

  • No cell phone use while at I.M.P.A.C.T.. Please let the leadership Team know if you must make an urgent call.

  • Remain on church grounds and in rooms designated for the co-op's use.

  • No solicitation during school hours or via email. (This includes all fundraisers for mission trips, clubs, teams, girl scouts, boy scouts, home businesses or parties, etc.)

Parent and Student responsibilities Addendum: Weapons Policy
No weapons of any kind, including guns, swords, knives, pocketknives, airsoft guns, paintball guns, fireworks, etc. shall be permitted on the IMPACT campus or at any IMPACT sponsored events. Prior approval from the Leadership team for special events may be granted upon request.
